Music of the Night
So American Idol is down to only six contestants! I remember thinking a couple weeks ago that there were still so many weeks ahead, but I’m at the point where I’ll be sad to see almost anyone go. I was so glad to see Kristy Lee Cook eliminated last week because she just doesn’t have it and definitely didn’t deserve staying longer than Michael Johns (I’m still angry that he was eliminated).
Anyhoo, the theme was Musical Theater featuring Andrew Lloyd Webber as the mentor, and while most of the performances were okay, yet again, the one that stood out to me was David Cook. I mean, I was convinced of his talent after ‘Hello’ and I loved his version of Mariah Carey’s ‘Always Be My Baby’ - he’s proven his versatility again and again. I didn’t particularly like any of the male contestants at the beginning, but I’m so impressed that David’s my favorite now.
I’m not big on musicals but I love some of the songs from Phantom of the Opera, including the one he sang, ‘Music of the Night’. I’ll post a link to the video whenever someone uploads it onto YouTube.
