Cristiano Ronaldo has hit back at the constant speculation surrounding his future.
The Manchester United veteran has been linked with a move from Old Trafford this summer but the club have toughened their stance which Ronaldo is not for sale.
With one year remaining on his contract, United could keep Ronaldo against his will for the next 12 months, although he is still to be expected to maintain a high standard of professionalism.
Ronaldo is understandably frustrated after United endured a difficult season after returning home, finishing sixth and missing out on a Champions League spot.
The Red Devils have also gone a fifth year without winning a trophy.
A Ronaldo’s fan page on Instagram shared a postwriting that his agent Jorge Mendes informed United of his desire to leave, and that Sir Alex Ferguson had to intervene.
Ronaldo claims there is no truth in this report.
The most followed person on Instagram left a cryptic comment below the post to respond to recent reports. He wrote: “Impossible not to talk about me one day. Otherwise, the press does not make money. You know that if you don’t lie, you can’t get people’s attention. Continue so that one day you will get correct news.
