Doctor Strange 2 Fan Art Shows Him Conjuring Chris Evans’ Human Torch

A tantalizing fan poster for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness sees Benedict Cumberbatch’s wizard conjure Chris Evans’ Human Torch.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse fan art imagines Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) conjuring up Chris Evans’ Human Torch of the Multiverse. There have been rumors that the Sam Raimi-directed film will feature a series of cameos from Fox’s Marvel catalog, which includes the Fantastic Four. Although there is no concrete indication that it could come to fruition, a digital artist took inspiration from it and created a new illustration.

Marvel Studios has done a great job keeping plot details for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness in an envelope. Unlike many other high-profile films, it was able to go through principal photography and then additional reshoots without any major on-set content leaking out online. However, the film is not immune to rumors. Between what we know about the film so far and how Spider-Man: No Coming Home finished, some are convinced that the sequel will be a game-changer in the MCU in more ways than one. With the film diving deep into the multiverse, the highly anticipated blockbuster could also feature several surprise cameos.

AGT Design on Instagram was inspired by this idea. The artist could have gone with one of the X-Men, who has long been rumored to appear soon in the MCU, but instead the digital creator chose to incorporate the former character from Evans Fantastic Oven in the lap. In the Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness artwork, Strange evokes the Human Torch in the Sanctum Sanctorum with Wong (Benedict Wong) watching in the background. Check it out below:

Evans is best known for playing Steve Rogers/Captain America, but even before Kevin Feige launched the MCU in 2008 with Robert Downey Jr. and Jon Favreau’s Iron Man, Evans was a member of the Fantastic Four. The actor played Johnny Storm in Fox’s first modern attempt to bring Marvel’s First Family to the big screen in 2005. The Fantastic Four and again in 2007 Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer. In fact, Evans almost turned down the role of the Star-Spangled Avenger because he didn’t have much fun working on previous superhero films. Fortunately, he ended up changing his mind.

As fun as it is to see, this fan art is unlikely to come to fruition, especially with Evans’ run as Cap complicating matters. While Evans’ Human Torch won’t appear in the MCU movie, that doesn’t mean it won’t feature other members of the Fantastic Four. There have also been rumors that John Krasinski as Reed Richards could appear, which would effectively give fans their much-needed casting wish. Aside from him, there’s additional speculation that the sequel will include variant appearances from other franchise heroes, which makes sense since it will see Doctor Strange explore an infinite number of parallel worlds in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
