Folie à Deux Fan Art Teases Joaquin Phoenix as the Two Jokers

Warner Bros. and DC Comics are gearing up to begin production on their next Joker sequel, and earlier today they revealed that the film will drop on October 4, 2024. Fans are really excited for the sequel with them even toying with the movie title. The title of the film, Joker: Folie à Deux, alludes to the idea of two Jokers in the film, but it more than likely refers to Harley Quinn. So, fans create fan art of several versions of the character in the movie. A new piece of artwork from BossLogic shows two versions of Joaquin Phoenix’s Clown Prince of Crime.

Bosslogic posted the art to their social media and it shows the actor in the costume from the movie as well as a comically accurate purple costume. Obviously, people are hoping for Phoenix to have a more accurate look for the Joker sequel, but they’ll probably do something more original like the first movie. You can check out the fan art below!

The film is directed by Todd Phillips and will bring Phoenix back with Lady Gaga set to join the cast as Harley Quinn. Phillips has been in the news lately after his name popped up in reports suggesting he was a filmmaker. Warners potentially wanted to direct DC Films. At one point, the director admitted he threw a whole “dark” tag at DC bosses, though that never materialized – yet.

“When I pitched ‘Joker’ to them, it wasn’t a movie, it was, let’s do a whole label,” Phillips said in 2019. “They shut it down quickly and I get it. Who am I to come in and start a label at a movie studio? But they said, let’s do this one.”

He added, “Here’s the real truth about a sequel. Although Joaquin and I have talked about it, and traveling around the world with Warner Bros executives — going to Toronto, Venice and other places — of course we sit down to dinner and they say, ‘So, have you thought about…?’ But, speaking of contracts, there’s not even a contract for us to write a sequel, we’ve never approached Joaquin to be in a sequel. Will that happen? Again, I think. just that the article was at best anticipatory.
