General Morgan Inn named one of the South’s best meeting sites | News from local businesses

For the second year in a row, the historic General Morgan Inn & Conference Center in Greeneville has been named one of “The South’s Best Meeting Venues”.

The boutique hotel won the 2021 Readers’ Choice award from national event planning magazine ConventionSouth, according to a press release from the hotel. The General Morgan Inn is one of Tennessee’s 30 winners.

“We are honored to be recognized nationally for our exemplary service in organizing meetings and events,” said Bronson Winters, general manager of the hotel. “This award is all the more satisfactory as we have been selected by the best meeting professionals in the country.

The hotel also won the magazine award in 2020 and received an honorable mention in 2019.

The General Morgan Inn will be featured in the December issue of ConventionSouth, which will be distributed to more than 18,000 meeting professionals across the country, the statement said.

“These planners demand the highest level of customer service and quality facilities. The General Morgan Inn & Conference Center indeed displays a commitment to the professionalism, creativity and service they need, ”said Marcia Bradford, Editor-in-Chief of ConventionSouth.

Throughout the year, meeting professionals nominate venues they believe provide exceptional service for group events. The nominated sites – nearly 4,000 this year – are compiled on an online ballot where dating professionals and fans vote for “Best of the Best.”

The General Morgan Inn, 111 N. Main St., offers 50 guest rooms, one Presidential Suite and one Executive Apartment. The hotel also includes Brumley’s, an award-winning restaurant with three separate dining rooms, and a lounge offering a wide selection of cocktails and an award-winning wine list from Wine Spectator and Wine Enthusiasts, the statement said. The hotel also has a grand ballroom and a rooftop garden terrace, two popular venues for corporate meetings, retreats and weddings.

Built in 1884, the hotel is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is a member of the Historic Hotels of America. For more information, visit or call 423-787-7510.
