Hawkeye Fan Art Welcomes Kingpin, Daredevil To MCU With Uncle Buck Tribute

Hilarious fan art by visual artist Butcher Billy places characters from Hawkeye and Daredevil in John Hughes’ classic comedy Uncle Buck.

An artist has created a hilarious work of Hawk Eye fan art welcoming Daredevil and Kingpin to the Marvel Cinematic Universe by paying homage to a comedy classic.

The image, which was created by visual artist Butcher Billy, shows Kate Bishop and Clint Barton / Hawkeye barring a door to prevent Wilson Fisk / Kingpin from entering as Matt Murdock / Daredevil rises to the edge of the stage. The title says “OH NO! THIS IS … UNCLE FISK”, referring to the 1989 John Hughes film. Uncle Buck, with John Candy. Billy shared the art on Twitter, with the caption, “Soon?”

Rumors have circulated widely that Vincent D’Onofrio is reprising his critically acclaimed role of Kingpin from Netflix daredevil and make its MCU debut as part of the new Disney + series Hawk Eye. While the actor had already debunked the rumors himself when a supposed photo of him on the set of Hawk Eye emerged, D’Onofrio also continued to troll MCU fans with social media posts that tease a possible appearance.

While D’Onofrio’s retaliation has not been confirmed, some fans have become convinced that Kingpin will appear on the series after the third episode of Disney +. Hawk Eye series, “Echoes”, which delved into the past of Maya Lopez / Echo (Alaqua Cox). The episode featured a flashback scene with a tall man, although his face was not revealed, which Echo only calls “Uncle.” In a recent interview, Hawk Eye Directors Bert and Bertie were asked if Wilson Fisk would have a role in an upcoming episode, to which they replied, “Watching the show you will probably find out.”

The debate over whether the pre-Disney + superhero comes across as The punisher, daredevil, Jessica jones, Agent Carter, Cloak and Dagger and Runaways officially part of the MCU canon is still ongoing. However, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige recently confirmed that Charlie Cox, who has appeared as Netflix’s titular hero daredevil series, will be the actor playing Daredevil in all MCU projects. “If you were to see Daredevil in things to come, Charlie Cox, yes, would be the actor playing Daredevil,” he said in a previous interview. “Where we see it, how we see it, when we see it, remains to be seen.”

The first four episodes of Hawk Eye are available on Disney + with new episodes airing every Wednesday. All seasons of daredevil and his companion shows Jessica jones, Iron fist, Luke Cage and The defenders are currently streaming on Netflix.
