A talented fan of the Marvel Cinematic Universe created a movie poster for the upcoming release Thor: Love and Thunder which features a reconstructed Mjolnir.

The poster, shared by Instagram user @carpaa2011, shines a light on Mjolnir with power shining from the hammer’s sealed fissures and references Natalie Portman’s return as Jane Foster. The artist noted in the caption, “I wanted to make my own teaser poster to better control my hype for the movie,” adding some lightning bolt emojis.

The artist has also created posters for other MCU titles, including Moon Knightwhich is currently airing its first season on Disney+, and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, which is set to premiere in theaters on May 6.

Directed by Taika Waititi and starring Chris Hemsworth, Thor: Love and Thunder will be the 29th MCU film. The story will see the titular God of Thunder embark on an introspective journey across the galaxy and team up with Tessa Thompson’s Valkyrie and Jane, who is now a superhero in her own right, to stop Gorr the Butcher God, played by Christian Bale. .

The first trailer for love and thunder was recently dropped, giving fans a taste of what the film has in store. Many viewers have spotted a possible continuity error: Thor’s eyes are both blue again. Having lost one of his eyes during Thor: Ragnarokthe character received a prosthetic replacement during the events of Avengers: Infinity War, which was notably a different color. It remains to be seen if this change is actually a mistake or a subtle plot point.

The trailer didn’t just spark debates around MCU continuity; it also sparked a flurry of fan speculation. For example, one theory posits that Gorr potentially originated from one of the planets mentioned in Chloe Zhao’s book. Eternals and that the destruction of the planet during the birth of a celestial can influence the villain’s ultimate goals and motivation. Another theory suggests that Gorr might actually be the original avatar of Ammit, the Egyptian goddess featured in Moon Knight.

More information on Thor: Love and Thunder also came a wealth of merchandise for the movie, with an official replica of the Reforged Mjolnir revealed. Some items may include spoilers – a major plot point regarding Jane and her journey in the film was apparently revealed in the description on a replica of her superhero helmet.

Thor: Love and Thunder is set to hit theaters this summer on July 8.
