Pink iPhone 13 is real, but I liked the fan art better than Apple’s version

The iPhone 13 in Apple’s new pink color.

It was only a matter of time before the great sky algorithm brought millennial rose and iPhone buzz together in the capitalist marriage. The IPhone 13 lineup is finally here. After Apple’s virtual announcement event, who saw not only the iPhone 13, 13 Mini, 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max but also the Apple watch 7 and new iPad, The internet is booming on phones extended storage choice (up to 1TB!), additional battery life, camera upgrades and more. But what excites me the most are the new colors – more precisely, the iPhone 13 pink dreams of the collective Internet.

This fan art rendering of a pink iPhone 13 was posted on Instagram before going viral on Twitter.

The whispers about a chewing gum pink iPhone 13 all started with an Instagram post. Artist and Instagramer Ali Sayed Ali, which specializes in 3D models and renderings (mostly iPhones), posted a photo in February showing a very ~ aesthetic ~ pink iPhone surrounded by what appear to be other pink Apple accessories (AirPods, AirPods Max And one iphone case). “Should we start to see these colors more often? Says the caption.

Then on May 5, a Twitter account called Peng Phones created a frenzy when he tweeted the same photo without a source, calling it “Rose Pink” iPhone 13 Pro Max renders and teases a December 2021 release date for the color option. (Subsequent tweets from the same account also mention the November 2021 versions for the “Pink,” “Rose Pink,” and even “Rosegold Pink” iPhones.) The tweet brought in over 40,000 likes and over 30,000 retweets, sparking searches for “pink iPhone 13” to poke. The photo has since been removed from the tweet for copyright infringement.

Much of Twitter’s reaction was skeptical:

But still, many responses on Twitter expressed hope (or at least a surrender to capitalism that could be interpreted as intention to buy): “Capitalism is bad but the pink iphone is so sexyone person tweeted. Another just tweeted “protester” between two candles emoji with an image of not only a pink iPhone 13, but a pink one Nintendo Switch, too much.

This rumor was certainly more of a IPhone Wish List article since the original creator of the image says she created it just for fun. But that didn’t stop us (and the social media aesthetics enthusiasts) to question its plausibility anyway. Could Apple Really Make the Pink iPhone a Reality? It turns out it does. Discover the official IPhone 13 color options below.

The veracity of the alleged release dates (here is the official release date of the iPhone 13) and the color names tweeted by Peng Phones were quite difficult to guarantee, not having been created or substantiated by notable leaks with a strong history of leaking from Apple, and mostly because the photo in the tweet was not than a fan art. But what the Twitter account got right was the fact that Apple would announce different colors for its iPhone 13 and 13 Mini phones compared to the 13 Pro and Pro Max. That’s not much of a surprise, as Apple varied colors in its iPhone 12 lineup in the same way last year.

The chances of a pink iPhone 13 coming out in 2021? They weren’t terrible. First, it wouldn’t have been the first time Apple has released a pink iPhone. The iphone 5c, released in 2013, was available in pink. 2018 iPhone XR came in coral, and the iPhone 6S from 2015 was sold in rose gold. Pink has been a popular color for tech since. Last February, Samsung also released phantom pink and phantom purple models of his flagship Galaxy s21, with a more metallic luster than the iPhone 13 rendering.

And Apple released a new purple color option for iPhone 12 in the spring, another bone thrown to the aesthetic crowd. In fact, Apple also unveiled a iMac redesigned at his April event available in a variety of retro shades to match that of the company old-fashioned rainbow logo. One of those iMac colors is, you guessed it, pink.

Apple usually swaps an iPhone color from generation to generation, leaving the rest consistent. So it was always possible that a touch of candy-colored pink could crowd out the deep blue or mint green of the iPhone 12.

While Apple certainly responded to our requests for a pink iPhone 13 (the color name is literally “pink”), the hue isn’t as bold as Instagram’s original rendering. Would I call it pink chewing gum? Based on Apple’s marketing images, no way. CNET’s Patrick Holland says pink is so pale it looks almost white in some lighting. But millennial pink? May be. Still, no one can argue that their pink iPhone protests didn’t technically come true, even though the fan art looks a lot prettier. But if you are still disappointed with the muted pastel shade, you can always buy a pink phone case.
