Animation professional and huge Pokemon fan Kiana Mai shares some fun Spy x Family and Pokemon crossover fan art we didn’t know we needed.

Artist Kiana Mai has released Spy x Family and Pokemon crossover fan art of Team Rocket cosplaying the Forgers, and her level of perfection unites all the people of our nation.

Posted on her Twitter account, Kiana shared four photos of everyone’s favorite Pokémon “villains” Team Rocket dressed as Loid, Yor, and Anya Forger. In a fun gender-swap, Kiana introduces James as Yor, an assassin known as “Thorn Princess” and matriarch of the Forger family. Jessie is a cool and collected Loid Forger, spy and family patriarch. Finally, Meowth as Anya Forger, with her “heh” face, stole the hearts of anime fans around the world.

Kiana Mai is an animation professional and a huge Pokémon fan.

Kiana Mai is a director at Disney Television Animation and a writer/character designer. She was a screenwriter on Big City Greens. Kiana is a longtime fan of Pokemon and is known for her incredible fan art of the series. She’s such a fan of the anime that she slipped a reference to Team Rocket into Big City Greens in his role as screenwriter. Kiana illustrated the Spy x Family and Pokemon fan art crossed with a meticulous attention to detail that could pass for an official collaboration visual. Her ability to capture the essence of each member of the Forger family and make them present in Team Rocket is a testament to her talent as an artist and creator.

Spy x Family is a manga series written and illustrated by Tatsuya Endo. The series tells the story of a spy who needs to “build a family” to carry out a mission. The spy, codenamed Twilight, is unaware that the girl he adopts as his daughter is a telepath and his new bride is a skilled assassin. Serialized bi-weekly in the Shōnen Jump+ app since March 2019, Shueisha released the tankōbon volumes. As of September 2019, Viz Media released Spy x Family in English digitally on its website for free, with a print edition in Spring 2020.

The series received an anime in 2022, produced by Wit Studio and CloverWorks. Directed by Kazuhiro Furuhashi (Hunter X Hunter, Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn RE:0096) with character designs by Kazuaki Shimada, Spy x Family will be held in two split courses, with the second course premiering on October 1, 2022. The opening theme is “Mixed Nuts” by Official Hige Dandism and the ending theme song is “Comedy” by Gen Hoshino.
