Offering a new premium design and advanced technologies, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles has launched the highly anticipated Amarok on off-road test sites ahead of its local public release in 2023.
The Amarok has been developed in both Australia and Germany, guaranteeing its capability both on-road and off-road in a range of terrains. A greater range of drive systems and an expanded range of driver assistance functions will place the next-generation Amarok at the top of the commercial vehicle segment.
“As vehicles hit the road in camouflage in Europe, Kiwis can expect to be wowed by the striking new design,” says Kevin Richards, Managing Director of Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles New Zealand.
“For the new generation, we have significantly changed the design of the Amarok. It is now unambiguously more expressive and significantly more impressive – a truly dynamic and solid silhouette,” says Richards.
“The Amarok is already well-loved by Kiwis, and the polished aesthetic should attract more fans and attention, without compromising its reputation as a hard worker.”
Boasting not only an impressive exterior, the significantly modified design also offers more crew cab space, a longer body and towing capacity for everyday use, while less overhang and a longer great wading depth increase the all-terrain capabilities of the new generation Amarok.
Pre-configured drive modes enable drivers to tackle virtually any challenge they encounter in their daily routines, with over 30 driver assistance systems – 20 of which are new to the Amarok – mean adventures are tackled in the safest way possible.
Available with four cylinders and a V6, there will be a model to suit every need, including the all-new “Pan Americana” for off-roading and the “Aventura” for primarily on-road use.
