Anna Duggar is single and it looks like she will be without her husband, Josh Duggar, for the foreseeable future. Josh Duggar faces a long prison sentence and Anna will have to figure out how to feed and clothe her seven husbandless children. Critics of the Duggar family can’t help but wonder how they manage without any discernible source of income.
Josh Duggar faces 20 years in prison
In December 2021, Josh Duggar was convicted of two child pornography charges. As soon as the verdict was read, Josh was sent back to a correctional facility to await sentencing. Anna, who had been by her husband’s side throughout the trial, left the courthouse in a hurry and hasn’t really been seen since.
It is largely assumed that Anna and her seven children still live on the Duggar family estate in Springdale, Arkansas. Whether this is its long-term solution is anyone’s guess. If so, she’ll probably be waiting a long time for Josh to return. Each charge carries a maximum sentence of 20 years. Emily D. Baker, a legal expert and YouTuber, once suggested that a 10-12 year sentence for the charges seems likely.
What does Anna Duggar do to earn money?
Anna appears to be on hold awaiting Josh’s sentencing. The sentence and the correctional facility he is ultimately placed in will likely heavily influence what she chooses to do with her life. Critics of the Duggar family are interested in seeing what she’ll do, but they’re largely wondering what she’s doing for the money right now.
Anna Duggar has never held a job outside the home. She married Josh shortly after turning 20 and left the family home in Florida to live in Arkansas. His Arkansas support system consists mostly of members of the Duggar family. Anna, however, may not be so helpless.
Prior to Josh Duggar’s trial, the Duggar family was busy opening limited liability companies. According to public records, Anna filed paperwork for seven LLCs and dissolved two other companies between the Department of Homeland Security raid and the Josh Duggar lawsuit. At least in name, Anna has also purchased a solo property from Josh Duggar.
Is Anna Duggar about to file for divorce?
Rumors are circulating that Anna Duggar is now weighing her options. Some Duggar critics believe the money move is an indication that the mother of seven is ready to walk away from her troubled marriage. While this is a surprising development, it seems unlikely to happen.
Family supporters have long suspected that Jim Bob Duggar is responsible for all of the Duggar family money. Derick Dillard has accused the 19-year-old father of hoarding the income of the two 19 children and counting and counting on, and it looks like it’s probably spreading to other financial firms as well.
While the money was transferred in Anna’s name, most critics believe it’s only on paper. In short, it seems unlikely that Anna will have unlimited access to these funds. For now, it looks like she’s maintaining the status quo and likely depending on Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar for the money. Divorce doesn’t seem to be in the cards either, at least not until an actual sentence has been handed down.
